I have been getting an error when I reboot my win2k Advanced server – I go to Event viewer in order to check on the error message. I see no data what so ever in my Event viewer. It’s blank/empty...

Please note that this server serves as a DC.

Is doesn't make a difference if it is a domain controller. Have you made sure that your event logs aren't set to something like 0kb in size?

Events logs are set to the defualt size of 512KB

Youve got a corrupted record in that particular event log. Delete, and don't save that log and all will be well again.

Since you will probably not be able to delete the event file while the service is running, you will need to set the Event Log service to disabled, reboot the machine, delete the file and restart the event log service
