event log filling up

OK, I run a scan on my servers every night including a domain controller. The dc is also an ts server in application mode. So there is lots of stuff on it.

When norton runs a scan it fills up the event log with statements about not being able to open files due to this or that. What do you do to fix this. Do I have to add exclusions for all these, is that safe. What do you all recommend?
 
I myself have a similar issue. Is there a way to disable logging to the Application Event Log? Perhaps redirect to another Event Log of your own creation or log to text file???
