I keep receiving an error (The device, \Device\Harddisk1\DR5, has a bad block.) My event viewer keeps filling up because of this error. Any help would be great. Thanks in advance.
Is it a RAID array? If so, you should have a utility to check the integrity of the container. That process should "lock out" the bad block to keep it from being used again.
If it's not RAID, do a complete scandisk, and tell it NOT to attempt to restore bad sectors to use.
The utility would be in your RAID setup, where you define your containers and such. I don't know the specifics of that machine, but I know the Dell raid controllers have it... you do a Check Integrity in the same menu where you define your containers.
This is a BIOS thing, part of the RAID bios, and not necessarily on your windows platform (although they do have software versions of the same thing).
