I am getting event ID 5719 every 2 hours from the time I log on. At exactly the same time the server is showing event ID 5513.

5719: No Windows NT or Windows 2000 Domain Controller is available for domain ACTION. The following error occurred:
There are currently no logon servers available to service the logon request.

5513: The computer RICHARD tried to connect to the server \\SERVER using the trust relationship established by the ACTION domain. However the computer lost the correct security identifier (SID) when the domain was reconfigured. Reestablish the trust relationship.

Any ideas on how to get around this?

Thanks for your reply, before I got it I tried to remove my computer from the domain (connecting to ficticious workgroup), restarting, then rejoining the domain. However, I just get the message "The specified domain either does not exist or could not be contacted"

Any ideas?!

Have you already tried to re-establish the trust? -Brad

I seem to recall something similar where the client wasn't using the correct DNS server. It couldn't find the domain controller some of the time.

What is your network environment? A single server in a simple network probably doesn't involve trusts. Maybe try removing the computer object from active directory and adding the PC back in to the domain.

Just a though.

Its only a very small LAN - 1 W2k sever and 10 clients (8 W98, 2 Win2k). I have removed the computer object from the active directory but when I try and add the computer to the domain I get the error "the network path was not found".

I'm sure it must be a DNS issue, my DNS server is just set to be the IP of our one and only server - is this correct?

Problem solved!

It was a DNS issue, W2k server has only just been installed on our server and the DNS had not been configured properly.

Many thanks for all your help.
