Event ID 1030

I was wondering if anybody can try and give me some guidence on Event ID 1030 on Windows XP Pro.
I have googled this and tried just about everything I have found online and nothing seems to correct this.

My environment is about 50 to 60 end user computers (ALL Windows XP Pro). I have two Domain Controllers, both running Windows 2003 server, setup for redundency (if that is the right terminology).

I have not had a chance to check each and every client workstation, but EVERY one I have been on have this error (Attached).

I have found a lot of information on this online, but a lot of it referes to 1030 and 1053, 1054, 1058, etc...
I DO NOT have any of the other event id's that are ever mentioned, JUST 1030.

Also, they seem to occur every two hours on all machines.

Windows cannot query for the list of Group Policy objects. A message that describes the reason for this was previously logged by the policy engine.

1. Your attachments did not work... so we are still in the dark as to what the event is referring to...

2. see if this helps a bit,

You cannot open file shares or Group Policy snap-ins when you disable SMB signing for the Workstation or Server service on a domain controller

3. You may have to edit the HOSTS file to reflect the DC's in use... e.g.
192.168.0.5 DC1.local
192.168.0.10 DC2.local

Instead of attaching the file I just typed the event id in the second post.

I will take a look at the link you posted, but it appears to me that that article is if you are having that error on the server, which I am not, this is always on the client.

Sorry for the questions, but just curious...

Why add the two entries for the DC's in the hosts file???

Thanks for the responses.... I was getting a little frustrated with this error and how often it was happening.

I think I found something I am going to try on a few of the machines to see if it takes care of the problem. After looking through all the ideas on Eventid.net, I think I found one that really fits us:

Our XP Clients started showing up these errors in the Application Log after we installed Service Pack 2. There is a corresponding warning EventID 40961 from source LsaSrv in the System log. The problem seems to be related to the background group policy refresh failing if the user has locked the workstation. +
Setting group policy to prevent lock workstation corrects the problem but a better fix seems to be uninstalling the Client for Microsoft Networks from the NIC, reinstalling it, and rebooting.
