We have a modular MICS with version 6.0 and VM of 4.0 running. We enabled the PRI services about 3 weeks ago. Since that time, the system will drop about 20 ~ 30 incoming calls per day. The call will drop within the first 30 seconds after it has been answered. No other drops occur. Drops are from both land line and cell phones. The drops do not occur when a caller uses our DID numbers. Also no outbound calls are dropped.

Alltel maintains this switch and they have replaces the smartjack cards, changed pairs, redone the span, changed ports at the CO and nothing fixes it. Today they noticed event EVT904-010D00S3 with the times and dates corresponding to the dropped calls. However, this event is not listed in the Nortel manuals.

I'm about ready to rip this system out and get a full blown PBX from another company if this cannot be solved.

Thanks for any suggestions

Alltel has suggested upgrading to 6.1, which is a free upgrade from them. However, they want almost $900.00 to upgrade the VM to 4.1.

If everything goes as planned, we will be switching to a Cisco IP phone solutions in the fall. I am trying not to spend anymore money than needed on this system unless absolutely needed. I was hoping to know what this event means to see if it would kick something loose from Alltel's "brain trust"

Here is what I found on that Event message
