Does anyone have or know where I can obtain documentation on an evaluation of Oracle Reports 6i or above. For example, good aspects bad aspects, comparison with other apps

I know this thread is rather old....but was there ever an unposted answer ?

We have Seagate Info 7 and Developer 6i in use for different reports from the same Oracle Database. Ideally we would like to rationalise the toolset and the type of evaluation you were seeking would assist.

No not really. I looked into it myself. However here is a word of caution. Fully investigate the licensing costs be you start using anything. Here in the UK we found Crystal 8 and Info 7 very expensive and the licensing is very complex.

If you want I can provide a bit more feedback of my findings.

Some time ago we went to use crytal reports, but discovered that they were only single threaded. and at that point dumped them in favour of Oracle reports.

Thanks for the prompt responses....I've managed to gather some info in hard copy and some from the web (Cnet gives a high level comparative analysis).

Thanks also for the comment on single threading....I checked out the Seagate Software site ( which suggested that the Maxload setting on the server should be increased. I've not tested this however.
