I use Eudora 5.0 and my rotten ISP does not support anything but Outllok Express and Netscape which I don't like.

Whenever I start Eudora I get a login prompt for a old e-mail account. The old account no longer works. How can I get rid of that old account?

The ISP will only tell me I need to remove this account from my settings.

Can anyone help me?

Cathleen

Both the sponsored and paid versions of Eudora 5.x
allow you to access multiple email accounts.
This is done by creating a "personality" for each
account you wish to access.

1. On the menu bar Go to 'Tools | Personalities'.
This will open the Personalities window.
You can now see how many accounts are setup, the main
account is called "Dominant"

2. Check what e-mail address each account has. To do that
use your right mouse button, highlight the personality
you wish to check and right click to get a menu.
Select 'Properties' from that menu.

3. Check the "Return Address", is it the old account?

4. If yes, click okay to close the properties window.
Now right click on that and choose 'Delete'.
If No, right-click on the next account and select
'Properties'. Check that account, repeat as required.

5. Delete all old accounts, keeping any that are still active.

That should do it, is it working now?

b.t.w. if you need server names call your ISP back and they can
provide them reguardless of what mail program you use.
Those settings are also kept in the Personalities section of Eudora.

Hope that helps.
