Hi All,

I am experiencing a problem with my UNIX box that I've never encountered before... My server crashed, and I had to do an unclean shutdown and reboot... after running fsck command (as requested during the boot-up process), I have found that none of my users can access any volumes.

The users are logging on from MacOS X machines... Using Ethershare Admin program, I have deleted all users and recreated then, deleted all Ethershare Volumes and recreated them and reset all permissions, but any user I create cannot see the volumes when logging onto the server.

Only root can see the volumes, as well as the last new user I created just before my server crashed...

If anyone has any ideas on this or has had a similar problem, please let me know... any help will be greatly appreciated.

Thanking you in advance,
Paolo

Hi All,

Just to let you all know, I have managed to solve this problem... It had to do with permissions, which I discovered / sorted out by going through every folder, volume and file from root level up and resetting the permissions using chmod.

Thanks a stack,
Paolo
