ethernet performance problem in hacmp

Hi everyone!!!
I got some problem in hacmp
we are configued hacmp(cascading mode) between 2 rs/6000 box
when i excuted rcp or ftp command performance very well
before configure hacmp.
but In the hacmp, degraded perfomance.
all of ethernet adapter set to 100_Full, but i don't know switch and hup set.
What's the problem?? i don't really understand this
problem.
How can i solve this problem??

About 7 months ago, I found a similar problem with our
2 RS/6000 240's (AIX 4.3.3) and found that setting the
ethernet cards to half duplex solved the problem.

Well setting your ethernet cards to half is not going to solve you problem, it will just mask it. 9/10 times the problem is the switch by default most of the switches i.e. cat and ciscso we have usually default to 100/half - log onto the switch and check it out. Also check for dropped packets from the entstat en* output.

I agree with PSD. We had a problem some time ago that the my RS/6000 servers NIC's were set to auto-neg and the switch port settings were also set to auto-neg. Should work... right? Not by a long shot. Found out that NIC's set to auto-neg don't always negotiate quite right. After setting both the NIC settings and the switch port to 100/full, everything worked like a champ.
