Etherchannel on a 2924XL

I am trying to configure Etherchannel on a WS-C2924M-XL-EN w/ 12.0(5)WC10 IOS. When I type in the command int port-channel 1 it says invalid input. This is what i have:

UPGRAYEDD(config)#int ?
FastEthernet FastEthernet IEEE 802.3
Multilink Multilink-group interface
Port-channel Ethernet Channel of interfaces
VLAN Switch VLAN Virtual Interface
Virtual-TokenRing Virtual TokenRing

so it gives the option, but when i go to select the interface number this is what happens

UPGRAYEDD(config)#int Port-channel 1

% Invalid input detected at '^' marker.

any suggestions?

Thats an old machine and does not use standard IOS commands for that.
