Hi

Can someone explain why or how the order of /etc/filesystems (on HACMP servers)
gets changed and I do not mean manually editing !!?

thanks in advance

Ruud

Hi

Importvg / Exportvg will modify the /etc/filesystems

Hi

thank you , AIX5L.
are these the only ones ? what about chfs or rmfs or crfs command ?
what will the order be like after modification ?

thanks in advance
Ruud.

if you add or remove a filesystem the file will change (new fs adds on to the end of the file)

Alex

to keep ODMs syncd you should perform all changes via C-SPOC (cluster management utility)....

for managing filesystems/LVs follow:

smitty hacmp/Cluster System Management/Cluster Logical Volume Manager/...

Hi

thanks all for your answers.

I am running oracle and sap. On several occasions /oracle/<SID> was halfway of the /etc/filesystems file.
e.g.
........
/oracle/T91/mirrlogA
/oracle/T91/sapdata1
...
/oracle/T91
....

for HACMP systems, it does not matter what /etc/filesystems show for HACMP does its own sorting but only if HACMP is not failing and you have to manually (un)mount filesystems.
The order of /oracle/<SID> filesystems in /etc/filesystem for non-HACMP servers is still important for when we are doing somekind of manual mounting or un-mounting of filesystems using the "-t sap" flag.

so I think for abovementioned reasons the order is important and I still do not know why or how the order of filesystems in /etc/filesystems gets changed !!!?
because /Oracle/<SID> filesystem is not a fs you add/remove very often !!!
