I use the WMQI Broker Program for XML to COBOL translation. I need to customize the ESQL that has been automatically generated. The provided ESQL interface is very clumsy. I have tried to copy the generated ESQL to notepad, but simply cannot; So that i can edit the ESQL in notepad and then paste it pack in the tab. Is there a way to copy the ESQL to notepad or another editor for editting ???

Thanks.

I agree that the interface is clumsy. I, however, was able to do my development elsewhere and paste it back into the ESQL pane for the various nodes.

1. You must check out the message flow in question.
2. Right click on the node in question and select properties.
3. Click on the ESQL tab.
4. Click and drag from the top to the bottom of the ESQL edit box. Note that you will want to be careful copy-pasting the first couple of lines if there is auto-generated ESQL present.
5. Hit <Ctrl C> to copy the text.
5. Paste the text somewhere else and edit it.
6. Paste it back into the ESQL pane by placing your cursor in the box (delete whatever is already there being careful of the auto-generated code at the top) and then hit <Ctrl V> to paste the text in.

Good luck. I bet using <Ctrl C> and <Ctrl V> was probably your issue.

It may also be because the message flow needs to be checked out before you can use <Ctrl C> to copy the existing ESQL.
