escape key does not function

i am working under win98 FRENCH Version, when the Caps Lock of my keyboard is engaged the escape key does not function anymore.

I'm afraid that's an OS problem - not FoxPro's. If the OS doesn't provide the information to FP, it can't respond to it!

Out of curiosity is this FoxPro DOS or FoxPro for Windows? 1.x, 2.0, 2.5, 2.6?

Please post after using the test solution.
Try all keys and find out which key produces code 27(Esc).
If you can not find any then try Alt+027 in your application.

Many times, when the keyboard layout does not match with the system set layout, you will receive mapped chars not necessarily what is printed on the keyboard.

Well, I resolved the problem by switching to win Xp.
To engage Caps Lock under Win98 I press Caps Lock, to go back to small letters I had to press Shift and not Caps Lock again; which is not the case under win XP.
