ESC * # G????????

Anybody know what the Esc*#G does where # could be any number. Ie. Esc*1G HEX: 1B 2A 63 31 47

That doesn't look like a valid command.

Are you sure it's not <esc>*c#G which is an area fill ID?

If you are creating a shaded box lets say 300 x 700 pixels, you would issue <esc>*c700a300b2P<esc>*c15G

The <esc>*c15G specifies a 15% shading.

If the intended fill was a crosshatch, then the fill would represent the type of crosshatch pattern rather than the shading level.
