I am a Cisco guy now learing Nortel. I know of the way to change the master (base) switch in a Cisco without having to reboot the entire stack. Is there a way to do this with the Nortel?

For example:
If I need to replace the Base switch, the stack IP and base designation change to the next in the stack. Is there a way to force the "actual" Base switch back without having to reboot all the switches in the stack?

You change the Hardware Unit numbers around through CLI.

Just unplug the switch from the stack, a slave will become the base.
