I have an ERS-8610 ITN with a GBIC GIG Blade in the 3rd slot in the chasis. With some switches around the facility, the connectivity is lost on the GIG blade ports sparatically. I have to go into Device Manager and disable and re-enable the port on the ITN to regain connectivity. Is there something that is triggering the loss of connectivity? Maybe packet loss or some setting in the ITN that stops the flow of traffic if something is found on the network? Maybe some sort of security feature? Please let me know if you have any idea what this may be caused by and also if you need more information. Thank you.

Try disabling auto-negotiate on the port. Hard code it to Gig/Full and see if it stops.

I tried changing it to Gig/Full manually and I got this error:

"rcPortAdminSpeed.215: Cannot change the port speed on this type of port." Any ideas?

Is the port being disabled due to loop detection or CP limit? The system event logs should give you an indication why the port is disabling.
