I get these errors after exiting Paradox running under Win 98se on an AMD processor.
Any ideas? I am stumped.

Igos,

You may have an older version of MFC42.DLL installed. Installing the updated library at may address the problem.

To see if this might be the problem:

1. Start Windows Explorer and navigate to C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM.

2. Select MFC42.DLL and then right-click it.

3. When the shortcut menu appears, choose Properties (the last command in the list).

4. When the property sheet appears, select the version tab.

5. See if your DLL is version 6.00.8168.0. If so, updating the library from the above link should resolve the issue.

FWIW, MFC42.DLL is a support file for applications written in Microsoft Visual Studio and there was an issue some time back when they changed the way memory was handled inside the library.

If you recently installed an older software package on the computer, that's probably where the bad version of MFC42.DLL came from. There are some pretty well-articulated rules for installing the DLL, but some installation programs do not follow them very well.

And, yes, this means that Paradox is written in Visual C++. The application was originally written in Borland C++, but Corel switched compilers a couple of versions back.

Hope this helps...
