Errors while installing Service Pack 2

I was installing service pack 2 on my new machine last week, and half-way through the install, it popped up a prompt that it could not find the specified file, so i did a search and the file was located exactly where the installer was searching but could not find it. I then got booted from the setup, and tried to remove what had alread been done but the same happened while uninstalling the service pack, i then got booted from that and tried to do a win2000 repair with no luck. So i reformated and reinstalled windows, getting the same error on the windows installation. Not sure what it could be, any ideas??

Is the SP from a download? You may want to download again in case there is a file corruption.

Yeah i did download it straight from the microsoft site, and i re-downloaded again and same thing happened, yet it works on one of my other machines.
