Hello,

i am not able to update any of my computers.. even manually, says that it can not connect to the FTP site.

we are using ftp.nai.com/virusdefs/4.x anyone else having problems? interet explorer has no trouble pulling up the site. My log looks like this..

5/14/2003 9:50 AM SYSTEM CHRIS AutoUpdate failed. All the connections failed.

any other sites i can try? anyone have any ideas?

Sometimes their FTP servers are down when they are preparing to update their FTP site with a new DAT update. Example, I received a DAT update this afternoon using NetShield, but when I tried to connect to the FTP site with Internet Explorer, I was able to get to a portion of their site, but not get to the directory that houses the DAT updates. There are times where it would take forever or even timeout when I try to download the SuperDAT file.

Give it another try at a later time and see if your problem reappears. Your problem may be related to NAI's FTP site being briefly down.

NAI have had problems with their ftp sites.

You may want to try ftpeur.nai.com or ftpde.nai.com for updates.

I have had similar problems. It seemed like a hit or miss. My McAfee account rep indicated it was due to high volume. That I explained was not my problem. In the end I found it was an intermittent DNS problem. I inserted the FTP site's name and address in my workstation and server's host file. All my problems went away. I can now hit their secure FTP site everytime, and download all the updates.
