Hello,

I have added a network printer through SCOADMIn but get errors with testing..

Please enter selection: 5

Enter the network peripheral name or IP address: lp55

The following types of test files can be sent to the printer:

1) text file
2) PostScript file
3) HP-GL/2 file

Which type of file should be sent? (1/2/3 default=1) 1

===============================================================
Checking that soutb is on the printer's access list ...
/usr/lib/hpnp/cfg/canaccess lp55

Printer access test failed. Add soutb to the
printer's access list before continuing.

The IP address is confuigured correctly on the pserver and is alive.
Thanks Scott

You got an entry for "lp55" in your "/etc/hosts" file or in your DNS server? Can you "ping lp55" from SCO?

Yes.. all is set up well there...

I am having this issue, did anyone figure it out?

For HPNP, the printer, idealy, must be a HP one.
It should accept requests via port 9100 and have SNMP enabled.
Another way is to use netcat
Yet another way is to use LPR/LPD protocol and the define the printer as remote.

Hope This Help, PH.
