After setting up a user on their PC to use PGP with the correct keys, we tested and all worked fine. She recently received a larger file than usual and can't open it. She gets the error "Sorry, the contents exceed the limits of the clipboard and/or viewer. Please try using a file operation instead."

I tried doing a copy/paste to a text editor but get the same error there. Could it be that she has an older PC with only 128m ram? Any other thoughts? Thanks.

Glav,

Were you ever able to solve this issue? I am having the same problem and have not been able to find a solution as of yet.

Thanks.

We no longer have the issue but it was so long ago. I believe the problem was with the PC itself. We upgraded a lot of users to Windows XP. I remember this error being on an older Windows98 PC with little memory.

The best thing to do when encrypting a large file in PGP is to try to compress the file first before you encrypt the file. You shouldn't be sending a 1GB file to a user but within reason, if you are encrypting a large pdf file for instance, if compression is an option, you should compress then encrypt.

This is how we have avoided 'large file issues' with PGP.
