Receiving the following error when attempting to boot from tftp:

Loading c2500-is56i-l.121-2.bin from 10.10.10.30 (via Ethernet0): !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

buffer overflow - 1289216/1288978 bytes]

I assume this means the RAM could not handle the size of the image? Does this indicate I have 12MB of RAM? Any ideas on how I can boot to a 11.5MB IOS image, the 2501 has 8MB flash. Thanks.

Scott

Sure.. bump up the flash to 16..

You *might* be able to compress the image but I doubt you will be able to compress enough..even if it would work.

Go back to the drawing board and use an image that fits in 8meg of flash.

You can always boot it from a TFTP server instead of using the flash memory to store the image. Hope This Helps

OOPs. It sounds to me that you don't have enough ram. Since your already getting the image from a TFTPServer. I would try upgrading the ram NOT the flash. My 2600 router uses normal PC ram. You may want to see if yours can too.

Sorry for previous post I misunderstand the question.
