I just started getting the message "Unalble to update G/L transactions while a G/L report is being printed". No other users are logged in to MAS90. I am using MAS90 version 3.06. Anyone have any ideas? Thanks.

Not a big deal. You get this when someone is printing a report in the GL when you are trying to post. When the report is closed you can post.

Thats what I understand. But I am sure all users are out of the system and I am still getting the error. I even rebooted the server to be sure all connections were gone.

MAS90 v3.06? darn that is about 10 years old. If you are really on 3.06 I suspect a bad record in the system control file that indicated the program is still running.

So should I do a restore from tape? Do you know what file should be restored? I have only been here a short time, but my accounting people have told this has happened before a long time ago. Apparently the fix was a restore of from tape. I just don't know what file needs to be restored. Thanks.

First I would need to know the correct version of MAS you are on. v3.06 or v3.60? Once I know that I can tell you how to go into the system control file and delete the marker that says the report is being printed.

I went ahead and dug around. Here is your fix:

3.71 of and before: Have all users exit Sage MAS 90 or 200 and run the GLWSJA program to clear any flags.

Note: Do not perform this procedure if any user is printing G/L reports or updating to G/L.

1. Verify that all users have closed Sage MAS 90 or 200.
2. From the Launcher, select File / Run.
3. Enter "GLWSJA" (without quotes) in the 'Program Name' field, and click 'OK'.
4. Click 'Yes' to purge the update from SY0CTL.
5. If the error persists, manually delete the record from the SY0CTL file using Data File Display and Maintenance.
Note: The actual SY0CTL record being written has the key [ABCRPTTxx,] or [ABCUPDTxx] where ABC represents the company code, RPT indicates a G/L report is being printed or UPD indicates a journal/register is being updated to General Ledger and Txx indicates the workstation/terminal ID in its compressed form.
1. Open Library Master / Repair / Data File Display and Maintenance.
2. In the 'File Name' field, enter "SY0CTL.SOA" (without quotes).
3. Click the 'Key Scan' button, and select the record.
4. Click the 'Delete' button.
