i am trying to install qpopper and it is saying that i need some *.so.0 files.

From what i have found i need openssl-0.9.5a-1.i386.rpm installed on the box to get these files.correct?

I am trying to install openssl-0.9.5a-1.i386.rpm and am getting an error..something like "/file/file/" from openssl-0.9.5a-1.i386.rpm conflicts with openssl-0.9.6-1.i386.rpm...it seems i need the older version installed to get these files. What can i do?!?!?

thanks

rpm -Uvf --oldpackage <rpm package> i believe thats the correct format or you can use rpm -Uvf --force <rpm package> as well.

i wouldn't downgrade openssl. big mistake there.

what are the exact files that you are missing?

you can also check to see what rpms provide those files.

you might just have to create a symlink to another file too.
