error "the attempt to log on the sexchange server computer has failed"

When i try to gointo my outlook i get a error "unable to expand the folder. The set of folders could not be opened. The attempt to log on to the microsoft exchange sever computer has failed". I whent over to the Exchange server, I can see that my C: there is full and there's where the mail is at does tht have anything to do with the problem? Also when i go to the exchange console and look under status or something like that. I see a x next to the Microsoft Exchange MTA Stacks. When i click on it it says its stopped and is caractarized as critical. However everything else there says its running. Please tellme what to do. So i can fix this problem?

Well ok, but what about the error i got. Wich has nothing to do with the disk being full. what does Microsoft Exchange MTA Stacks do? and what can be a good reason for it to stop running? How can i solve this problem?

If Exchange cannot write, the services stop.

My guess is your transaction logs have filled up your disk. Best option is do a full online backup if that is possibble, else enable circular logging as per this article. Please read the warning first before enabling circular logging.
