error ora-12514

Hi, I have installed oracle 8i enterprice edition and developer 6.

When I try to connect to the database from the developer builder, appears the following error.

ora-12514
message 12514 not found; product RDBMS80; facility=ora

Anybody can help me?

Are you sure that you got the error ora-12514 ???

I guess you have mistaken the error ora-12154 for 12514...

Well, if you had got ora-12154 (TNS:could not resolve service name), please check up the tnsnames.ora file for the entry related to this database service.

The error 0ra-12154 is about the tns could not resolve service name. And when I installed oracle 8i and developer 6, at first I had that problem but i resolved it.

now the problem is error is 0ra-12514: message 12514 not found, product RDBMS80; facility=ora...

I tried to find about what is this error but I don't.

Do you have another idea.
