Error on Maintain Users screen

I am new to Macola, but in my position at my new employer, I'm responsible for any IT related issues, so please forgive my ignorance.

On the Maintain users screen, we are trying to enter the start date for a user and it is giving the error message "state date must be before end date" even though there is not an end date entered.

The only thing interesting about the user is that he used to be a temporary employee and is being converted to a FTE employee and we are entering his new date as an FTE. (again, if this doesn't even matter, I apologize for my ignorance about the product)

Anyone have any thoughts on why we are getting that validation error?

Macola ES or Progression? What version of Macola?

Maintain Users? I know of no such screen. Do you mean employees? Please explain exactly what menu options you choose to get where you are entering this info.

Sorry, we are running Macola ES, release 360, version 4.0.0.323. SQL Server 2000 backend.

To get to the employee/user form that I was referring to, it is System -> HR -> Resources. Then find the employee and open that employee. The screen says "001 Maintain users" at the top.

I cannot duplicate this error. I am on 4.4.4.324 however.
