error on lppchk -c

I am doing an upgrade from aix 4.3.3. to 5.1L and one of the steps suggested is to run lppchk -c and make sure it runs without any error. I did exactly that and I got a few errors.

A couple of them are:

lppchk: 0504-212 the checksum for file /usr/sbin/mkdev is 13356, expected value is 12103.

lppchk: 0504-206 File /tftpboot could not be located

How do you fix this type of error?

I tried to reinstall bos.rte fileset and it did not make any difference. Please advise what filesets do I need to reinstall. The files with checksum errors are:
/usr/sbin/chcons
/usr/sbin/chdev
/usr/sbin/mkdev
/usr/sbin/rmdev
/usr/sbin/watch
/opt
/tftpboot

Use the following command to determine the filesets:-

#lslpp -w /usr/sbin/mkdev

and your will get which fileset this file belongs.

I tried that command(lslpp -w) and it returned with filesets "ALL". What does it mean?

Install bos.content_list and you will be able to use the which_fileset command. ie

root:/>which_fileset chcons
/etc/chcons -> /usr/sbin/chcons bos.compat.links 4.3.1.0
/usr/sbin/chcons bos.rte.console 4.3.3.0

/usr/sbin/chdev -> bos.rte.methods
/usr/sbin/mkdev -> bos.rte.methods
/usr/sbin/rmdev -> bos.rte.methods
/usr/sbin/watch -> bos.rte.security
/opt -> bos.rte
/tftpboot -> bos.net.tcp.client

Either these files have been altered by applying a fix or changing permissions (and not registered in ODM), or ODM is corrupted.

1) Try to reinstall original files through smit with "Overwrite same or newer versions: YES" then apply fixes that were existing before

2) If "lslpp -h bos.rte.console" and "lppchk -v bos.rte.console" (and so on for other filesets) runs without trouble, you may update SWVPD database with "lppchk -cu"

Hi,

I tried the last suggestion by nwardez and it fixed the problem.

I did the following:
1. lppchk -v and it had no error.
2. I then did lppchk -cu and it completed without error.
3. Now lppchk -c runs without error.
