Error, no clan submittedDuplicate entry '127' for key 1

Everything I manually change something in my DB this happends the only way I've found to fix this is drop and recreated... but the content is user made so this isn't fun for the end user. Anyone know what I can do to change this?

Change the datatype for the auto_increment column from tinyint to int.
