Creating tape boot............./usr/sbin/mkinsttape:backup not found
/usr/sbin/mkinsstape: there is no process to read data written to a piepe


Where is the problem ?

Aix 5.2.0

Whats your PATH variable set to ?

What maintenance level are you running ( instfix -i | grep -i ml )

My path and maintenance

/usr/bin:/etc:/usr/sbin:/usr/ucb:/usr/bin/X11:/sbin:/usr/java131/jre/bin:/usr/ja
va131/bin

instfix -i | grep -i ml
All filesets for 5.2.0.0_AIX_ML were found.
All filesets for 5200-01_AIX_ML were found.

what does the system respond to the command

which backup
which restore

should be both in /usr/sbin
