Hi all,

I recently try to download IIS program on the website.

I chose the version for NT Workstation 4.0 Option Pack for Alpha. Upon downloading all the files, I run the Install.exe program. However I was prompted with this error message:

"The image file C:\NoSupt\install.exe is valid, but is for a machine type other than the cuurent machine."

I am quite new to this subject. Would appreciate it if someone could explain the meaning of this message.

I am currently given the task to put up an Access database on a webpage and know that this can be done by ASP pages on IIS program. Is there any other way I can do that?

Many thanks in advance.

Sounds like either you're not running NT 4.0, or...what it really sounds like, is that you're not actually running an alpha chip.

Give us the exact specs on your machine including processor. If you're running an Intel processor, then you're going to have to download the Nt 4.0 Intel option.

Hope this helps,
moose

Thanks for your help. I am currently working on the company's computer. I do not know the specs on my computer. Is there a folder where I can get this information without going through the system adminstrator?

From the following directory, desktop/control panel/Add/remove program, here are the information I got:

-Windows NT 4.0 Hotfix
-Windows NT 4.0 Service Pack 5
-Microsoft Internet Explorer 5.5 and Internet tools

From the Microsoft website, the requirements stated are:

"Important Microsoft Internet Explorer 4.01 or greater and Windows NT Service Pack 3 or greater must be installed before you install the Windows NT 4.0 Option Pack."

Which are met. I tried installing the pack for Windows 95 but it also shows error msg...
