Under Win98, why might I get an error that there are not enough free usb ports even though there are? Specifically, a usb cd-burner stopped working when a new ps/2/usb mouse was plugged in, even if it was plugged into the ps/2 port via an adapter.
Thanks for any tips.

HI
Check the availability o IRQs. Pobably, you uninstall the USB mouse. Some of the softwares are not that well driven.. in that... they start capturing the IRQ and not releasing it when not in use. So youmight be having that trouble.

Also, try connecting the CD-Burnet to the USB port to which the usb mouse was earlier connected. In case, if there is a fault in USB port, you can identify that.

Hope this helps :) ramani :-9

Definately sounds like a software problem...try re-installing Win 98.
