I found hits in the syslog for the following:

Aug 26 05:42:08 ed-pdmm /usr/lbin/ups_mond[4325]: /usr/lbin/ups_mond: UPS /dev/tty0p1 read failed: File exists;
Uninterruptable Power Supply has not been connected correctly; loss of power would not be detectible

Does this just mean that a secondary power supply is not connected? Is there a command I can run to verify that this is a valid message? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

John

Is this system connected to a UPS?

If so, then the communications channel is not properly setup.

If not, then you can safely ignore these messages or just disable the UPS monitoring daemon.
