I recently upgraded from Win 98 to Win ME, I know, big mistake. Anyway, now I am getting this error message after start-up and even in safe mode and step by step config. When I close it, it shuts down my system.
Is there a way to get into the system to reinstall Win 98 from the initial screen? I have a Gateway G450. TIA [sig][/sig]

Boot up in safe mode. Start-run and type in msconfig

Go to the startup tab. Remove all but one of the checkmarks and reboot. Same problem? If not, put one of the checkmarks back in and reboot. Same problem? If not.... and so on.

I do not have anything selected in there (on home pc) except systray and my virus checker. That's it and no problems doing anything... [sig]

techsupportgirl@home.com
<a href=
[/sig]

Thanks Dreamboat. I will try this again tonight and see if it will let me in. Last night I couldn't even get a 'start' button to click on so I could run msconfig. [sig][/sig]
