Seem to be getting the following message continously in the
/var/adm/syslog/syslog.log
"Oct 11 02:38:12 hp02bas vmunix: lanc_ether_ics: 11882"

Would appreciate it if someone could explain what this message means, what would the fix be for this problem.

Thanks.

I'm just guessing -- and sorry if I'm just being obvious here -- but it looks like your ethernet card, are there any diags you can run on it? [sig][/sig]

No, I don't know of any diagnostics that I could run on this. It does seem a bit obvious, but not too sure what it means.

Hi Tony,

The server type is HP 9000 series K570, and the os is HP UX 10.20. Have searched for a patch, and have not found anything yet.

there is a utility called lanadmin. type it at the root prompt. You can make sure the lan card is set up correctly. I am really the DBA but do unix and once got info about this utility from support.

Hi,

The solution that you have mentiined i.e. use the lanadmin utility, well I have used it but I am not sure what am I looking for. It would be helpful if someone could ellaborate on what I have to look for, thanks.
