Error installing Outlook AddIn

Hi,

Back in January (before I went on a super 5 week break :) I was working on setting up Archival / Migration. The issue I'd hit in the last few days was that while I'd been able to sucessfully install the Outlook AddIn on my own PC, on ANY other users I get the following error:

Error 1904. Module c:\program files\commvaultsystems\galaxy\base\CVEAddIn.dll failed to register. Hresult - 2147010895 Contact support personnel.

The users in question are other members of my team at this point who are all local admins on their PCs so I don't think it's local rights.

Anyone know or do I need to open a job?
 
I was hoping it was some inherant bug or known issue with the CV Addin - the error is so generic that I've got a million and one hits and possible solutions!

BTW - I have dotnet 2 and the VC++ redistributables installed / reinstalled.
 
Can you not just manually register the dll and try the install again?
 
I finally got the answer on this one. basically, the AddIn is VERY fussy about which version of the MS VC Redistributable it installs against.

I just happened to already have the right one on my PC so didn't encounter the problem, but on other PCs it was still a '2005' version but slightly newer and throws the above error.

By using the version on the CV DVD, the AddIn installs OK, and then (if you have a need) the newer one can be installed with no adverse effect.
