I'm getting this error when trying to backup one of our SQL servers.. Anyone have an idea what this means?

"Failed to check if SQL Logs Backup should be converted to Full. Error [Internal Error: CVNetMessage requires the loadable DLL Name and Entry point to be initialized!].

Go to the actual subclient in the commserv gui and then right click on the database itself, View-->Backup History

I have found that most of the DB's I get this error message on have been deleted and are not being reported as deleted by CV

Thanks.. that got us in the ballpark we tried refreshing the discovered databases in the job however it returned an error. We then went to the database and tried accessing the account with the credentials it had been using and it worked fine. Seems that for some reason commvault idata agent is the only thing that can't access it.

HI Ferret,

I am having the SQL TL error that you had/having. How did you resolve?

What version of CommVault are you running? I had a similar problem when I install SP 1 for Galaxy 6.1. When you install the SP it upgrade some of the security for Commvault. The problem I had was with a Windows 2000 server, Galaxy 6.1 SP1, and SQL. Here is the solution that CommVault gave me and it worked.

Symptom: SQL Backups fail after upgrading to Galaxy 6.1 Service Pack 1 on Microsoft Windows 2000

Cause: User configured for backups does not have permissions to run the backup

Resolution:
Service Pack 1 for Galaxy introduced a new Windows API call ‘LogonUser’ In order to properly call make this call, the account configured for backups must be granted the Local Security Setting “Act as part of the Operating System” right. Click start -> Run type ‘gpedit.msc’
Open the ‘Computer Configuration -> Windows Settings -> Security Settings -> Local Policies -> User Rights Assignment on the right column select ‘Act as part of the operating system’ Select ‘Add User or Group’ and add the user account of group that is configured in Galaxy for backups.

I am running 5.9. It was a permissions issue. Someone removed our system account login priviledges. Once the permissions were added back that fixed the issue.

I will definitely keep that in mind when we go to 6.1 with the security settings. Thanks Kevin!
