I have been working on a clients computer, which is connected to a LAN. Their connection to the network works, and any http website is displayed immediately, with no problems at all.
However, whenever you try using anything that is https (eg. logging into hotmail, or another secure page), it will come up with the standard windows white page with black text saying the page could not be displayed, and offering to click here to play around with network settings.
I've spent ages looking at the settings, and cannot see anything that is wrong with the IE settings. The network settings also appear to be fine.
Any ideas?
Dave.
