Crystal 8.5
Windows NT 4.0
Access 2000

I'm running a report off of Crystal 8.5 and if anyone is in the Access database it is connected to I get the following error:

20534 "Error detected by database DLL"

I get everyone out of the database rerun the report and it is fine.

The database is set up as shared. Does anyone know how to resolve this issue?

This is a live database with several people using it and I can't have them shut down everytime we have to run this report which is several times a day.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

are you connecting directly to the .mdb file or using ODBC? If you are using ODBC make sure the DSN is not setup as an exclusive connection. Software Support for Macola, Crystal Reports and Goldmine

It is a direct connection to a query within Access. I thought about trying an ODBC connection what do you think?
