Hi

I've installed ACT 2007 (v9) on a workstation to determine whether its worth upgrading from ACT 6.

On trying to convert the database, I get the following error message when the process is about a third of the way through converting contacts.

'Conversion has been halted with the following message: Attempted to read or write protected memory. This is often an indication that other memory is corrupt.'

When I press OK, I then get a futher message:

'Error accessing or processing a PAD file - C:\Documents and Settings\lozdell\mydocuments\ACT\ACT For Windows 9\Databases\DBname.pad'

I ran actdiag on the old database first and all points came up green under scan and repair.

Has anybody else come across this problem?

Thanks Mike,

I got around the problem by uninstalling then reinstalling both versions. A bit extreme I know, but sucessful none the less.

Ahhh... so, unusually for Windows, the memory issue was probably that. Normally, they are data issues ... not just in ACT! but other Win apps also

Glad it's working for you.
