I have Cognos Impromptu User Version 7.0.702.0 on a Wiindows 2000 Pro box. When attempting to open Catalogue a I get the following error message:

DMS-E-YV_SGINOLIB, Unable to locate the gateway 'msdba.dll'

The file msdba is present in both the System32 folder and the C:\Program Files\Cognos\cer2\bin folder.

I have set up and successfully tested the User and System DSN SQL Server drivers.

Any suggestions?

This error will be shown in Impromptu if the Microsoft SQL Server Client piece is not installed.
Once this is installed and configured properly, Impromptu should no longer throw the error.

Regards

Tony Goldsmith

SQL Server driver is configured in ODBC Data Sources in both User and System DSN.

Is this what you're refering to?

I installed SQL Server on the machine and this resolved the issue.
