I can not build myapp.exe in vfp8.0 error while building "c:\windows\system32\cipher.exe is not a Visual Foxpro .EXE file."

Please help me.

Regards.

I personally have no idea what Cipher.EXE is, but a web search for it tells me that it is some Security Encryption/Decryption application.

If that is so, then YES, it would not be a Visual Foxpro EXE.

But what is it doing included your VFP Project file in such a manner that it would prevent your doing a Build?

Good Luck,

could you do a code references search on where in the project cipher is reered to? search for cipher only, see if you find some RUN or Shellexecute or DO.

For example Do xyz in c:\windows\system32\cipher.exe causes that error and could also do so while compiling.

It could be some command with macrosubstitution, some path or constant set to cipher.exe instead of some foxpro app or exe.

Bye, Olaf.

Also if you did indeed find a reference to Ciper.EXE within your VFP Project, you could mark it to be an EXCLUDE from the VFP EXE.

I am not 100% sure if this would resolve your Build issue, but it might.

Good Luck,
