We have a Windows 2003 domain, all the servers and clients accept GPO updates without problems, but Windows Vista.

When doing a GPUPDATE /FORCE (on the Windows Vista) the following occurs:

no it did not help, the problem still persists.

event this was tried:

Stop the "Windows Management Instrumentation" Service
Go to "system32\wbem"  folder
Delete the "repository" folder
Start the "Windows Management Instrumentation" Service
run "wuauclt /detectnow" to force check.

But no positive results.

Is the Vista machine still trying to get its updates from Windows Updates rather than where you want it to? Are the options under Windows Updates, dimmed and unaccessible, as I believe they should be in your case?

If it is not getting updates can it be made to self connect to Windows Updates just to bring it up to date, there have been compatibility issues with Vista and various applications that are being corrected via recently released updates.

This is just for general information.

Windows Server Update Services (WSUS)

Please Help!
i just bought a new laptop that come with Vista Busines version and when I plug in corporate network inviranment. it works fine for internal only. but I can't connect to the internet or any website.
Any thought will be appreciated

Thanks Linney for your reply,

The current environment does not require such actions (to connect to the Microsoft Auto updates) as we are still on a test phase with Vista; we wish to have this test Vista to be updated by our WSUS 2.0 SP1.

If fact it did updated it self from our WSUS until 3 or 4 days ago, but for a reason or another it does not updates anymore and returns the error that we mentioned above.

Once more thanks for your help.
