Is there any way to create error bars with Crystal charts the way you can with the MS Excel? Thanks in advance...

Not exactly...

But you might use a customized grouping to allow for this.

Perhaps if you post what your data looks like and what you want someone can work it out.

Here's some more info...

I need something that will serve the purpose of an error bar in excel but it doesn't have to be one.

I have patient satisfaction survey data and display bar charts showing means and frequencies on parts of this data. The data is aggregated and wharehoused in a table but I can put it in any form that would work. The groups that I aggregate on include the national database (the whole table), by agency (there are several hundred agencies sending us this data), and other segments like the 'top 15%'.

I would like to chart that data with my groups along the x-axis and the value along the y-axis. The error bar I'm looking for is a z-test value representing statistical significance - I'll spare you the formula. It would be the range we expect the value to fall within and appear on top of each group's bar. I'm not hung up on an error bar but just need something that will communicate this value elegantly.

The data might look like this:

Segment MeanScore Description - average score for...
--------------------------------------------------------
Agency1 4.20 a healthcare agency
Agency2 4.42 another healthcare agency
NDB 4.10 National Database - the whole thing
Top 15% 4.38 Top 15% of agencies

Error bar: 4.04 - 4.45

Thanks so much for any help!

Cheers,
Jami

I don't know if this exactly fits the bill, because I can't remember much about statistics, but if you create a chart, select it and go to chart analyzer, you can then select the data series (the bar or line, etc.) Right click and select "curve fit and stat lines" and you will see a pretty lengthy list of "curve types" from standard deviation to ten different kinds of regression analysis, like "modified hyperbolic regression"--who knew such things would ever come in handy?--that you can add to your chart.
