Error appears everytime I open an excel file

Help!!!!

I keep getting the following error message appear everytime I open a file in Excel 97.

"an error occured intializing the VBA Libraries"

All other machines open the excel files ok just this one machine gives problems.

I have re-installed the office package on the pc but still get the same error.

Any idea's????????

forgot to mention the error code is (1004)
