I'm running AIX 4.3 on an IBM F50. Lately I've been unable to start our backup agent from ArcServeIT. I run the commmand as you'll see below and this is the error message I get. I also get this error message when simply trying to run the 'ps' command! This is our primary application server and I'm a bit concerned here. We haven't had a good backup in days. Please help as soon as you can. Thanks...

aixbama:/usr/bin#>uagent start
exec(): 0509-036 Cannot load program /usr/lib/zsh/3.1.9/zsh/libc.o/psmod.o.2 bec
ause of the following errors:
0509-023 Symbol wlm_getclassname in psmod.o.2 is not defined.
0509-026 System error: Cannot run a file that does not have a valid format.
exec(): 0509-036 Cannot load program /usr/lib/zsh/3.1.9/zsh/libc.o/psmod.o.2 bec
ause of the following errors:
0509-023 Symbol wlm_getclassname in psmod.o.2 is not defined.
0509-026 System error: Cannot run a file that does not have a valid format.

What error message do you get when u run a 'ps -ef' ??

Thanks for the responses. Yes, I've reinstalled the ArServeIT software. I've also ran the "ps -ef" command and got the same error message:
aixbama:/usr/bin#>ps -ef
exec(): 0509-036 Cannot load program /usr/lib/zsh/3.1.9/zsh/libc.o/psmod.o.2 because of the following errors: 0509-023 Symbol wlm_getclassname in psmod.o.2 is not defined.

What is this wlm_getclassname? It looks like maybe the problem might lie in that or that psmod.o.2?

Does anyone else have any ideas?? Nothing has worked yet.

Are you using zsh as your shell? If so, have you tried running the client from Kornshell?

Check to make sure ksh isn't a symbolic link to zsh, also.

If you do a "file `which uagent`", I bet you'll find that it's a script that runs "ps" for it's own purposes, perhaps to make sure an instance of the client isn't already running.

If the ArcServeIT client REQUIRES zsh, then maybe a newer version would solve the problem.

Very strange, though, that the ONLY Google hit on wlm_getclassname is this thread. That's just weird.
