Hi,
I use a Data Evironment Connection in my application to edit an Access database. All this works fine on the computer on whitch the program is written. When I make a package to distribute the program (with the Package & employment Wizard) and install it on an other computer I becom the following Runtime error:
"ADO could not fing the specified provider (-2147220992)"
On the computer with VB installed the installation works.

Can somebody please give me a direction to search in??

Thanks a lot!
David

Hi

Looks like you MAY need to add ADO components to the package you wish to redistribute. Make sure that MDAC_TYP.exe is one of the included files in the package.

hie ya

It may happen if the microsoft data access component on that system is of previous version. So try searching mdac_typ.exe at microsoft's site, download it and try after installing it . Hope things work out.

Or whether u checked for dependencies and all that stuff..

Its nice to be important, but it's more important to be nice.

Hi you NicoleM and Rohity,

You were right ! I needed an update of the MDAC_TYP.exe to version 2.7.

Thanks for your advice.
David
