Error 8602 backing up SQL 2000 databases

We are running Arcserve 2000 sp3 on a Win 2000 server, when trying to back up SQL2000 databases receiving the error:

E8602- failed to read from database (68) Error Status in Named Pipes

Any ideas?

Go to Registry
HKey_Local\Software\ComputerAssocaites\ArcserveIT\Base\cureentversion\DSAAgent\SQLDB....

find the key USETCP and change it to 1 to use TCP instead on Named piped

We applied SP4 and updated our anti virus software. Our backups have been successful since.
