Error 8524. Received unrecognized command from the client agent.

I receive the following error during my backup jobs:

E8524 Received unrecognized command from the client agent. (COMMAND=0)

I am running ARCserve 2K and the agent is Win32Agent version 6.61 (build 840). This error displays in the log just prior to the backup summary. Could it be related to the registry backup component?

ARCserve help does not help. Any suggestions?

Hi Folks,

I did some research and found out that

ARcserve 2000 with Client agent Build 840 (6161) is not supported and ARcserve 2000 with any ARCserve 6.61 agents will not work.

The think to do would be to install the ARcserve 2000 Client agent (Latest Build 350 ) with Sp4.
